French Video Editor in London
Bilingual video editor (English & French) based in London — editing French-language content, working from briefs in French, and collaborating fluently with French and English-speaking teams.
I'm Antonin Bonafous, a London-based freelance video editor, British and French, born in France and based in London since 2015, working fluently across both languages. For London agencies and brands working with the French market, I bring something most editors can't: I edit natively in French as well as English — taking briefs in French, working with French voiceover and subtitles, and shaping edits that land correctly with a French-speaking audience.
Language in an edit is more than translation. Timing a voiceover to French phrasing, pacing subtitles to read naturally, catching the nuance that makes content feel native rather than localised — these are the details that separate a French edit from an English one with French captions slapped on. Being properly bilingual means I handle them instinctively.
I've edited French-language and French-market content for a number of London agencies and brands, for clients like Charlotte Tilbury, Danone, Shell and HSBC. I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and use AI tools like ElevenLabs to create and direct French-language voiceovers with the right tone and intonation.
What I offer
- Full editing in French — from briefs and rushes through to final delivery
- French subtitles, captions and localisation — timed and paced to read naturally
- French voiceover work and direction — including AI voice via ElevenLabs
- Dual-language campaigns — English and French versions of the same content
- A bridge between teams — working directly with English and French speakers, no translator needed
Why a bilingual editor matters
When a brand or agency produces content for both the UK and French markets, the usual route is to edit in English and bolt on a French version afterwards — which is where timing drifts, subtitles feel clunky and the French cut loses its rhythm. Working with a genuinely bilingual editor from the start means both versions are crafted properly, in parallel, with the same care. It's faster, cleaner, and the French audience gets content that feels made for them.
